Job Description

As a Backend Engineer for Web Indexing you will be responsible for developing the web crawling tools needed for website data extraction and ingestion. Join the Security Technologies team that provides key technical capabilities for Marketplace teams composed entirely of backend engineers to foster idea exchanges. You will collaborate closely with Data Science & Analytics and Strategy teams to build the right product while working on maintaining and scaling the web indexing services. Additionally you will monitor your code using monitoring tools and help define and achieve ambitious quarterly objectives while engaging with other developers through collaborative coding processes.

Job Requirements

You should be proficient in Python with experience in versions 3.10 and above and have knowledge of object-oriented programming and asynchronous programming patterns. Experience in web crawling and writing crawlers is essential along with familiarity with messaging systems and SQL databases. Knowledge of observability tools and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is required as well as understanding CI/CD systems. You must possess the ability to simplify complex technical concepts and have a quality-driven mindset with a willingness to continuously learn. Excellent written and spoken English skills are necessary to communicate effectively.
