Job Description
As a Backend Engineer for Web Indexing you will be responsible for developing the web crawling tools needed for website data extraction and ingestion. You will join the Security Technologies team which is dedicated to providing technical capabilities to support other Marketplace teams. Collaborating closely with Data Science & Analytics and Strategy teams will be essential to ensure the alignment of product development efforts. This role will require building and maintaining web indexing services while also assisting teams in understanding both technical and business requirements to foster the right solutions.Job Requirements
Proficiency in Python particularly versions 3.10 and above is essential along with experience in object-oriented programming and asynchronous programming patterns. Candidates should have experience in web crawling and indexing including writing crawlers and parsing XPATH and CSS selectors. Familiarity with messaging systems SQL databases and observability and monitoring tools is crucial. Additionally experience with containerization methods and CI/CD systems is expected. A quality-driven mindset a willingness to continuously learn and excellent communication skills in English will be essential traits in this role.
