Job Description

The role of a UX Designer at Canonical involves transforming complex open-source software into user-friendly products that enhance how systems are built and what open source can achieve in the enterprise IT landscape. This designer will work closely with engineering teams to improve their offerings affecting the success of Ubuntu and its community. They are responsible for creating tools that facilitate custom cloud experiences while ensuring that industry best practices are implemented. It is crucial for the designer to maintain a clear sort of design that elevates user experience through stylish presentations that prioritize usability and accessibility. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse mix of professionals including engineers and executives. Confidence in user research and an engagement with the latest design innovations are essential for success. The position is remote but involves occasional international travel for events and meetings. This challenging role demands a keen understanding of design principles and a commitment to the principles of open-source software.
