Job Description

Canonical is seeking open source enthusiasts to join the Ubuntu Engineering Server Team which is tasked with maintaining and packaging various software such as webservers databases and virtualization stacks. As a software engineer in this role you will collaborate proactively within a distributed team to foster a seamless software ecosystem for all Ubuntu users while ensuring high-quality software standards. You will shape the future of Ubuntu by contributing new ideas and collaborating with other teams and upstream projects. Your work will include debugging open source code assisting with the maintenance of Ubuntu Server packages and engaging in team interactions that may involve travel two to four weeks a year. This position requires a passion for technology curiosity and a solid foundation in programming languages such as C/C++ Python Rust or Go. Ideal candidates will have a desire to learn about open source contribution software packaging and the intricacies of containerization and virtualization.
