Job Description

As a Software Engineer on the Core Desktop team you will join a dedicated group of professionals aiming to develop a next generation immutable Ubuntu desktop focused on security reliability and usability. Your work will blend the best ideas of immutable Linux with contemporary desktop experiences enhancing the development platform for a global ecosystem. The role primarily requires proficiency in system languages like C/C++ along with Python and Shell scripting while also offering opportunities to explore Go and Dart/Flutter. You will engage in designing and developing elements for the Core Desktop while utilizing cutting-edge Linux container technologies and writing high-quality code for a multitude of users. Collaborating with team members you will delve into the unique features of immutable desktops and participate in code reviews to solidify your understanding of quality standards. Additionally you will troubleshoot user-reported issues and contribute to documentation enhancing both your learning and that of future members. This position provides a unique chance to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment under the guidance of experienced professionals while significantly impacting the future of Ubuntu's Core Desktop.
