Job Description

Canonical is developing a comprehensive automation suite designed for multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions catering to enterprises. The data platform team plays a crucial role by ensuring the automation of operations which includes maintaining fault-tolerant replication and providing expertise on data systems. Engineers in this role will focus on creating and automating features for data platforms instead of analyzing the data. This involves collaboration with a distributed team writing high-quality Python code and debugging issues while actively engaging with upstream communities. Team members are expected to work from home with occasional travel for company events. The role is remote and welcomes applicants from junior to senior levels. Success at Canonical is found in those who understand both open-source community dynamics and the needs of large innovative organizations.
