Job Description

The role entails driving the future of collaborative open-source development tooling within the Launchpad team at Canonical. This position calls for a motivated engineer passionate about open-source software Linux and web services. Launchpad itself serves as a vital platform for managing open-source development projects offering features such as code hosting bug tracking package building and translations which are essential for developers in the free and open-source ecosystem. The ideal candidate will engage in maintaining business-critical services while expanding the functionality of the system which includes package building capabilities improving user development flows and modernizing the web interface. Your responsibilities will include collaborating across distributed teams contributing to design and architecture writing high-quality Python code debugging issues producing fixes and reviewing peers' code. It is imperative that candidates have experience in improving large mature applications and a commitment to security throughout the delivery process. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field coupled with strong technical acumen specifically in Python will be necessary to succeed in this role.
