Job Description

As an engineering manager at Canonical you will lead a team focused on building a Ceph driven software defined storage solution while managing a globally distributed engineering team. Your role will involve developing your team through coaching mentoring and providing constructive feedback to ensure they grow as engineers and deliver high-quality work. Additionally you will facilitate technical delivery and strategy while promoting sound software architecture and best practices in software quality testing and documentation. With a strong emphasis on agile software development practices you will maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence within the team. Your responsibilities also include managing expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders while actively participating in leadership discussions to promote collaboration across the organization. The position allows for remote work with occasional global travel that may reach up to 20%. A background in software engineering paired with technical leadership experience is essential to effectively challenge and develop strong engineers in a dynamic environment.
